On January 20, the Dutch accreditation council (Raad voor Accreditatie, RvA) accredited our sister company Steeltestlab on the basis of the EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 TESTING L677 standard. This is the ultimate proof that you can rely on their expertise, impartiality, and test results. We are very proud of their outstanding achievement.
The Standard for Laboratories
The value of their services depends on the quality of our sample tests and calibrations. That is why implementing a quality management system that would guarantee this quality had been a priority for Steeltestlab from day one. All of their decisions were made with a view to ISO/IEC 17025, the international standard for quality management in laboratories. The accreditation is the ultimate proof of both their technical competence and their independence and reliability.
The accreditation process was a lot of work. After attending a special training course, all procedures, instructions, and a range of other data were recorded. This was followed by a comprehensive two-day internal audit by a team from the RvA, who looked at their testing equipment and methods and how these were calibrated, as well as more broadly at the infrastructure, staff, internal controls, and the continual improvement processes. It really put their small team to the test. Fortunately, they achieved outstanding results – it’s rare for auditors to have such a low number of feedback points!
